Puerto Rico – Day 5

puerto-rico-day-5-583Day 5 – August 7, 2009

Awoke at  6:00am.  No one else was stirring.  Got out of bed at about 6:30am in order to mediate and meet with God before I meet with man.

After breakfast, Bro. Ashley and I went to get his Dodge Durango inspected and licensed.  It was time for his renewal.  It is quite and ordeal here in Puerto Rico.  He had to go first to the Department of Transportation to get the appropriate paperwork.  Then, he had to take it for inspection at an authorized gas station, and then take that paperwork to his bank and pay for the whole process there at the bank.

Upon returning to the house, we made preparations to go back to Jayuya and work on the church building.  We waited a little longer, due to W.C. being sick.  He has fought congestion and infection all week long.  He was been fairly miserable for the week.  I have been praying for a quick recovery so that the trip will be more enjoyable for him.

We left and went to Jayuya and did more painting and other jobs that demanded attention at the church.  I am eager to meet the people on Sunday and enjoy the services there.

It is still a blessing to be encouraging to the Ashley family.  During the past eighteen months, they have experienced may disappointments and setbacks concerning the ministry.  The missionary they were supposed to be working with in Puerto Rico did not work out.  They have attempted to help reestablish two other existing works, and the were rejected by the people of the work.  Pray for the Ashley family.  They are good people who are trying to the get the gospel to those who have never heard.
